Tintype Photo Booth

for Kids!

Hosted by Beech Street Parenting

Beech Street Parenting is graciously allowing me time in their wonderful space to make one-of-a-kind tintype portraits.

Give this page a read if you want to learn more about the process, and learn more about me here.

These sessions are meant to be an experience for the kids. I have strict rules on consent and autonomy - if the subject doesn't want to be photographed I won't take their picture, and the face they make is completely up to them (no "say cheese" please). I recommend one face per photo, but I can do up to two faces per photo if desired. I will have special accommodations for photographing newborns and babies.

In regards to the recommended stillness: dues to the nature of this process and the cameras used, a certain level of stillness is necessary to make a sharp image. Essentially the subject must remain still to improve their chances of being in focus. However, the exposure time is so fast that there is no chance of capturing motion blur. That said, I have very good success with making photos of littles that are a bit more wiggly than is ideal. And if wiggly is just in their nature, then that is what will be captured :)

Here is a great example of and out of focus, wiggly subject:

This is just for the kids

You can book an appointment or just show up. If you book an appointment please try to be a few minutes early. If you are late, that’s okay - I will be as flexible as I can be. If your child changes their mind last minute I will refund the deposit. In this case the deposit is the full cost of one image.
